Enduring much pain and trauma, Lina wrote some of the most beautiful hymns anyone has ever sung. Daughter of a Swedish Lutheran pastor, she witnessed the drowning of her father when he fell overboard from a boat on Lake Vattern outside of Motala, Sweden. She had already been writing hymns since childhood when she was ill and couldn't walk, but relied on her faith in God to carry her through and heal, which happened. She endured many tragedies, including the death of her only child, and never lost her child-like faith in God.
